Jackaroos wanted – Futter Park 2011

Futter Park – 3 Jackaroo positions

“Futter Park” is a magnificent 5,042 hectare property situated near Harden in the South West Slopes of N.S.W. There are currently 3 Jackaroo positions available (starting January 2011).

The positions would suit school leavers pursuing a career in agriculture and looking to gain practical experience in a wide range of farming activities.

Futter Park is a highly productive property with a variety of enterprises. These include:

  • 9000 merino ewes for wool and fat lamb production.
  • 1000 breeding cows including a registered shorthorn stud operation.
  • 1200 hectares of cropping – wheat, canola, oats & lupins.
  • Fodder production – silage and hay.

Jackaroos at Futter Park have a great opportunity to learn many new skills and are encouraged to participate in all aspects of this mixed farming operation. They also can be involved in the NSW traineeship scheme where various certificates can be obtained such as Certificate III in Agriculture.

The Jackaroos living quarters have recently undergone a complete renovation, including a new kitchen and bathroom.   A computer is available for project use and internet access.   General cleaning is provided and all keep is supplied.  Evening meals are prepared during the week and food is available for lunches.

The district is great for young people, with many school leavers living in the area. There is an abundance of social & sporting activities available which the previous Jackaroos have always enjoyed such as rugby, touch, AFL, league, cricket and golf.
