This Week at KOBs 2 March 2014

Below is a brief update on the important news this week. Make sure you read to the bottom because I’m giving away free stuff!
Results: Subbies 7’s

This season finally got underway this weekend with the Subbies 7s. The boys came away with 1 win from 3 starts, with the win coming against new rivals Hawkesbury Valley and the losses against teams in higher divisions. Final the full results here:
Thursday Training starts this week
Monday trainings have been going really well, with our best turn out last week in a tough session run by new 1st XV coach Rohan Cranney and trainer Ari. We have a specialist sprint coach this week to tweak our running technique and give us the explosive “Issy Folau” power. This will be a session not to be missed.
March also signals the start of Thursday night trainings. These trainings will be skill based and will help us prepare for trials and round 1 on 5 April. Bring your boots, mouthguard and your mates and get amongst it!
Upcoming Matches
8 March – Trial @  vs Hawkesbury Valley and Oatley @ Hawkesbury. More details to come shortly.
15 March – Pre-season trip away and match vs South Beachs @ Lake Macquarie
22 March – Trial @ The Kingdome vs Beecroft and Redfield Old Boys
29 March – Internal trial @ venue TBC
5 April – Round 1 @ The Kingdome vs Briars
– All KOBs jerseys. After doing an audit on our jersey stocks, we have found ourselves short in a number of positions. The worst offenders are No.8’s and half backs. We currently have NO 8 or 9 jerseys. We are short on several other positions as well and this is not good enough. You do not own the jerseys and if you don’t want to spend the season wearing prop jerseys (funny enough there are plenty of these) then let us know you have them and return them to us ASAP!
– SmartRugby qualified coaches. If you have done the SmartRugby coaches qualification or are interested (2.5hr free course) please let me know as the club is required to have a number of qualified coaches at all times.
Rule changes for season 2014
There have been a few changes this season including to the scrum engagement. See the full list of changes on the subbies website:
I have come across a stack of free tickets to the Top Gear Festival next weekend. Let me know if you’d like a ticket. They are doing a car bungy amongst other things:
Look forward to seeing you soon
