This Week at KOBs 24 March 2014

Gents,

ROUND 1 COUNTDOWN:

13 DAYS

Results:

This weekend saw a great turn out for the first hit out at the Kingdome for 2014. We came up against strong opposition from Div 1 side Beecroft and Div 5s strongest team over the past 5 years, Redfield Old Boys and came out on top in several encounters. Most encouraging for me was the great enthusiasm shown, great numbers and a willingness to stick around and support the boys. This is a fantastic start and we need to build this as the season progresses. Don’t forget though, we still need to field a 4th team and build contingency for when we get injuries and people are unavailable so keep bringing the boys down that are waiting in the wings

Training

As we spoke about after the games on Saturday, raw enthusiasm and talent means little if we don’t play as a team. There are some positive raw signs but plenty to work on before round 1 and for the rest of the season so make sure you get to training. This week we will train on Monday and Thursday at 6:30pm at Wentworth Park, Glebe (near the light rail bridge). From next week, training will change to Tuesday and Thursday at the same time and place.

Social

This Saturday night we will host the rego party. The match has been scheduled for late afternoon, so bring your gear to have some beers at the AYH. The club will put on a feed and a bar tab. If you pay your registration fees on Saturday you will also receive a discount. More details to follow on this event!
