See this week’s update below:
A good showing at training last week paid dividends with strong results in all grades. 4th grade continue their unbeaten run and top the table in the prestigious Nicholson Cup. Will 2014 finally be their season? A loss by <7 points keeps 3rd grade in the top 4 but my feeling was the boys would have got a win over the unbeaten Hornsby had they started with a fresh team. See my section on availability below… There’s no doubt the result wouldn’t have been as close had it not been for some outstanding goal kicking by Drew “The Body” Moran. Unfortunately Drewster will be out for a few weeks with a suspected broken wrist. 2nd grade’s game was cut short for the second time this season with a scary tackle landing Gavel in hospital, but thankfully he was cleared after scans at Westmead that evening. Fortunately the boys were up 14-0 and the injury happened in the second half so the result stands. The win keeps the Farrant Cup boys in touch with the pack, 2 points off the top 4. The main game was a chance to build on a strong 2nd half against Epping last weekend. The goal was to shake our reputation as slow starters and win the 1st half. We did that with two tries and carried the form into the 2nd half, with the tireless Tom Dewhurst scoring under the post after the ball went through a dozen hands to secure the bonus point after the final bell. Dewy converted to show he’s got a fine touch as well as his defensive brute force. The Clark Cup boys are now just 1 point off the top 4.
On this week, as always. Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm.

Last week was very poor form on the communication front. 3rd grade warmed up with 10 players despite naming a full 15 and not hearing from any of the boys to say they weren’t going to make it. Let’s leave it at that and don’t let it happen again. This is how it works:
– if you played last week we will assume you are playing again this week
– if you can’t play, it’s up to you to let your coach know my Monday night as teams are selected at training on Tuesday
– if you’re in doubt with injury but not sure yet, let them know
– if you’ve been injured or unavailable and you’re back, let the coach know
The coaches details are:
1st/2nd grade – Rohan Cranney 0412 549 357
3rd grade – Allan Lott 0401 317 139
4th grade – Con Noordeloos 0458 101 130
